Our Journey
Over the years, Arachas has been built on the shoulders of many great entrepreneurial businesses that have the same core values and ethos as our own. These mergers & acquisitions, just like us, have a core belief to put the customer at the heart of everything we do.
We combined our strength and experience along the way to become Ireland's largest nationwide insurance broker. We think differently about insurance by always looking at ways to innovate and improve how we serve our customers.

Our Family
In 2020, Arachas became part of the Ardonagh Group and we're delighted to join an Ardonagh Family of over 7,000 people whose commitment to customer service and passion for innovation and entrepreneurial spirit mirrors our own. Our network now extends to over 100 offices in the UK and a growing international footprint which means that we have you covered locally, nationally and internationally.

Our Community
We put people at the heart of everything we do, and people are what make up communities.
Across the country we work with communities to help support and build local community initiatives that are important to them. We believe that community spirit is at the core of what makes our country special and we're always looking for ways to keep that culture strong and growing.
We support our employees who wish to volunteer their time for a cause that is close to their hearts because if it's important to our people, then it's important to us.
We are also part of The Ardonagh Community Trust. This is a charitable arm of The Ardonagh Group which gives all employees and local offices across Ardonagh a chance to make a huge impact on causes close to their heart through quarterly grants, match funding and volunteering. To date the Trust has donated over €500,000 to charities across the UK and Ireland and this number will keep on growing.

The day in the life of Stewart Anderton, Head of the Change Team at Arachas
Hi Stewart, how are you doing?
I am doing very well, thank you. This morning, I started my day walking the dog Oscar to get my very important morning coffee and I am now ready for the day!
What’s keeping you busy today?
There is lots going on, within Arachas from a change perspective. Our main focus at present is planning for the integration of Glennons and O’Malley Griffin, which will commence in March. We have kicked off a series of planning workshops for these integrations which will run over January and February 2023.
You’re relatively new to Arachas, how are you finding it all so far?
It has been great, really exciting and fast paced. While Arachas is growing relatively quickly it still has the feel of a small, agile organisation which I am really enjoying. I have also very much enjoyed getting to meet so many great people.
Why do we need a Change Team at Arachas?
Change can have a significant impact on the way we do our work, on a day to day basis. Change can impact processes, systems, tools, roles and even mindset. The role of the Change Office is to support and enable the business, to manage these impacts and achieve its goals by ensuring that change activities are appropriately planned and co-ordinated across all areas within Arachas and that the change is implemented in a seamless manner.
What in your view is the biggest challenge when managing change?
I was advised very early in my career that, when managing change, people are the most important consideration. This is always at the top of my mind, as I find the discussion can often focus on systems and process changes rather than the impact for people. From my experience, the most important thing in managing change is liasing with different stakeholders, ensuring people understand why the change is happening, how the change will impact them and engaging with them regularly throughout the change process.
As the Head of the Change Team, what is your usual work routine like?
I am not sure I have a routine as every day can be very different! From running workshops to project managing integration meetings, no two days are the same. The key to enjoy working in such a faced paced and agile organisation like Arachas is to stay flexible and keep an open mindset.
How do you collaborate with other teams?
In this post Covid environment I find I use different ways to communicate and collaborate – like everyone, it’s a real mix of virtual and face to face. Whatever the channel, the fundamentals remain the same, which is about open communication, transparency and building relationships.
Your job seems very busy, how do you unwind? How do you like to spend your time when not at work?
I love staying active, whether it is going for walks, playing golf or keeping fit. I am also an avid rugby fan. We are currently doing up an old cottage in the west of Ireland, so project managing that build and putting my hand to a bit of DIY keeps me busy!
Thank you for taking the time to speak to us today.
The day in the life of Joanne Jermyn, Account Executive, Private Client.
Hi Joanne, what is your usual day at work like?
Every day is different. I generally work from the Sandyford office, working on retaining clients, engaging with new clients, communicating with colleagues and my own team members.
What interests you most about your job? What is the Private Client Team Like?
When working within Arachas, the Private Client Team was always something that intrigued me. The team works collectively to offer our clients a bespoke service that we promise. There is endless room for improvement within the team which I think is exciting as well as motivating. We’ve got a great blend of experience and different personalities. I’m certainly glad to be a part of it because although we’re busy there’s a great team culture in the group and we all work to help each other as much as possible.
What is Bespoke service? Can you give us some examples?
A bespoke service is simple. A unique approach for every client. At its core, it’s understanding that every client has different needs and for us to be able to add maximum value for our clients, we need to first listen to their needs and be flexible in addressing those needs.
How has your journey been till date?
My experience has been great. I’m continuously learning in fact I have a great support circle around me that enables me to grow and learn. I am delighted to support our clients by adding value to their experience with Arachas.
What are the main skills required to do your role?
Each client has different needs/requirements, and they are potentially at different stages of their lives which impacts their insurance requirements. It is critical to listen and learn about our clients, to offer the best service. Communication is a key skill required to deliver the desired service we offer at Arachas Private Client.
Did you always want to work in the insurance industry? What motivated you to choose this career path?
No, I wouldn’t say I always wanted to work in insurance however, I’ve witnessed how rewarding insurance (and Arachas) can be if you’re willing to work hard so I always had a positive opinion about it. When I returned from the UK, I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted to do and I remember Covid was at its peak, there weren't plenty of opportunities, especially given my background was in culinary entrepreneurship. I was delighted when I received the opportunity to work part time at Arachas. Since joining, I have found it to be challenging but a great learning curve for me.
What advice would you give someone who just started?
Ask Questions. There is ample of knowledge within Arachas along with several years of experience and expertise. Don’t be afraid to learn from those around you. The insurance world is constantly evolving and adapting and for me the best way to learn is to learn from others.
When not at work, how do you like to spend your day? Any hobbies?
My hobbies are yoga, travelling to new places but most importantly FOOD.. I love cooking & eating of course!
Thank you for taking the time to speak to us today.
