Business Development Director – Munster
The purpose of this role is to work as part of a dynamic sales team in Munster seeking and winning Commercial New Business. The role entails focusing on specific company-driven sales campaigns with the New Business and Existing Teams as well as working on own initiative to generate larger type Commercial New Business leads for conversion.
Location: Arachas Munster Offices (Cork, Limerick, Tipperary or Waterford). This role requires travel to the Munster offices regularly.
Reports To: Managing Director (Munster) & Director of Broking’s (Munster)
Key Internal Relationships: Managing Directors Broking , Regional Directors, Regional Managers, Regional Business Managers, Account Directors, Account Executives, other business units, Business Enablement Teams.
Key External Relationships: Customers, Insurance companies, other parties.
Role Accountabilities and Core Responsibilities
Sales & Activity Management:
Seek, Quote and Convert quotations for new commercial clients.
Meet income acquisition and referral targets set.
Assist in achieving the overall New Business objectives of the Commercial Lines teams in the Munster Region.
Conduct regular team meetings to discuss Pipeline and New Business Strategy.
Comply with all relevant compliance legislation.
Manage aged debt and premium collection.
Comply with all Management Audit Requirements.
Ensure agreed processes are followed in all matters.
Maintain an excellent teamwork ethic.
Customer Relationship Management:
Ensuring we build long-term trusted relationships with customers, through understanding their needs and being a true partner.
Enable customers to make informed decisions, through sharing of best advice and knowledge.
Customer Service:
Provide professional, action-orientated and timely service to our customers, staff and management
Put customers at the heart of everything you do, aiming to delight them during every interaction to build loyalty Portray a professional image to exceed customer service standards.
Take personal responsibility for delivering the highest level of accuracy and quality in your work.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the Managing Director & Regional Director’s
Work within a large regional team.
Working on new business pipeline and working within the team to deliver best results.
Assist in achieving the overall objectives of the Commercial Lines New Business Team.
Assist in achieving the overall objectives of the Commercial Lines Team.
Compliance:
Work with the Commercial Teams Regional Director’s and Compliance Teams in ensuring that the quality of file records meets prescribed standards.
Requirements:
CIP Qualified aiming towards ACII qualification
Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment with a high level of energy.
Ability to deal with and convert larger more complex commercial risks into clients.
Strong communication skills are essential. Excellent communication skills and a strong client relationship background.
An aptitude for selling and being flexible to meet tight deadlines.
Demonstrate good technical & product knowledge. Excellent negotiation skills and an understanding how best to negotiate between price and risk.
Possess a positive, can-do attitude with the ability to adapt to and embrace change.
Attention to detail. Motivated, self-starter who will work on their own initiative and appreciate the regulatory nature of the business.
An enthusiastic and flexible approach, along with demonstrated attention to detail.
The ability to prioritise workloads and adapt to unforeseen events.
A good degree of personal organisation and a structured approach to time and resource management. Strong IT and organisational skills.
Compliant with the Central Bank’s Minimum Competency Code and Fitness & Probity.
Person Specification:
Previous experience in the area of New Business Development.
Significant technical insurance knowledge.
Ability to develop relationships with colleagues, insurers and clients. An enthusiastic and flexible approach, along with demonstrated attention to detail.
Willingness to learn & develop.
Strong work ethic.
Commitment to ongoing professional development. Quick learning capabilities and an aptitude for understanding the variable elements of insurance products.
